My Perfect Match   4 comments

‘You’ll always know what kind of job you DONT want, but you will never know the kind you really want.’

These were the words of my MBA professor few months ago; 6 months before I landed in my current job.
I kept thinking if this was true, and I suppose i will continue to do so. I have put this forward as a challenge for myself. I have set out in a pursuit to know the kind of job I really want. Only time will tell if I ll be successful or not.

I believe trail and error is one way to learn, especially in this case. Until I have not tried my apptitude and luck in different verticals and different domains, how would I know which one i really want to stick with?

I wonder how many people around me have been in their respective industries for years, never ever testing their true potential. But then again, do we have time and resources to play trail and error for most part of our practical lives?
This is why many universities now offer career planning councelling. What a blessing it must be for those it has ‘actually’ benefitted. For people like me, we re still wandering ‘aimfully’ to find our perfect match!
